Directed by: Sujit Guha
Starring: Hiran, Koel Mullick, Biswajit Chakraborty, Laboni Sarkar
The two-and-a-half-hour-long film that marks Hiran’s comeback after a one-year break is a comedy with frames and scenes lifted from a series of Bolly hits.
The plot: Hiran’s Rahul heads the para Bachelors’ Club, while Koel’s Diya is a rich man’s (Biswajit Chakraborty) daughter who has come down from London for a holiday. The first thing she does after landing is dance in the rain, and for Rahul, who spots her from a bus stand, it’s love at first sight.
The two come closer through a comedy of errors that begins when Rahul’s friend Hrithik plans to run away with his sweetheart, also called Diya, who is being forcibly married off by her parents. So, Rahul and his gang of para boys plan to kidnap Diya and whisk her away to Bachelors’ Club.
But they land up at the wrong wedding and fetch the wrong girl — Koel, that is. But since Koel’s Diya too has escape on her mind as she too is being married off against her wishes, there are more errors before the hero gets the heroine.
Have fun spotting the copy-paste portions — from Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani to Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Love Aaj Kal and Dil Chahta Hai — since Guha doesn’t offer anything original to make you laugh.
Koel looks pretty and Hiran is cute. The song sequences — all shot by Kumud Verma at snazzy locations — are eye-catching.
