There are some places you visit just for good food. And there are some you visit because they’re equally pretty! The Corner Courtyard (TCC) is a 110-year-old house turned boutique hotel that has been restored. It opened quietly a month ago with a soft launch and is now ready to announce ‘We’re open!’ a few days before Diwali.

The before-and-after story is told through pictures on the walls. “They give one a sense of what this courtyard really looked like when it was a home,” said Megha Agarwal, the director of The Corner Courtyard.

Located at 92B Sarat Bose Road (beside the Indian Oil petrol pump near the Sarat Bose Road-Palit Street crossing), the rooms are not yet ready but the 55-seater dining area is. There are two sections — The Rouge (yes, managed by the Beckbagan dessert den) and The Courtyard, which offers dining with Italian, Mediterranean and world cuisine.
