Deepika shared a video with Ranveer in which the Bollywood couple re-enacted the famous scene from the film.

Deepika penned an emotional note alongside the video about the challenges of embodying a role in a comedy film. “They say that comedy is the most difficult genre for an actor. When I was offered Chennai Express, I knew I had a daunting challenge ahead of me,” the 37-year-old actress mentioned.

While admitting that it took her a long time to get into the shoes of her character in the film, Deepika mentioned that it was “a process that is extremely lonely and oftentimes frightening.”

As a tribute to her character in the film, Deepika wrote, “I’m grateful that we were able to create a character that is not only synonymous with the movie, but also one that continues to receive an abundance of love till this date…”

Chennai Express revolves around Rahul (Shah Rukh) embarking on a journey to Rameshwaram in Chennai Express to perform the last rites of his grandfather. However, his path takes a tumultuous turn as he helps Meenamma (Padukone), the daughter of a gangster, in boarding the same train as a runaway bride.
