Producers Aditya Chopra and Ritesh Sidhwani have decided to exchange the release of their films — Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Toofan, respectively.

“In the interest of both films and to ensure an ideal theatrical release, Aditya Chopra & Ritesh Sidhwani have decided to release their films on different dates,” a joint statement released by YRF and Excel Movies on Friday read.

Aditya will release Jayeshbhai Jordaar — starring Ranveer Singh as the titular character — on October 2. Excel will release Toofan, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and starring co-producer Farhan Akhtar as a national-level boxer, on September 18.

Toofan also stars Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur and Isha Talwar.
