Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Uunchai, Mister Mummy, Jhilli, Dostojee: New films out in theatres

A total of nine films, in Hindi, English and Bengali, released in theatres on November 11

With at least nine new films hitting the theatres on Friday, it is going to be a tough call to decide which one to watch this weekend. While MCU’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever —a much-awaited sequel to Black Panther— is likely to attract the lovers of superhero genre, Sooraj Barjatya’s Amitabh Bachchan-Anupam Kher-starrer Uunchai could be the go-to-show for those interested in seeing a film with a social message. Here, we provide a list of films you can watch this weekend at the theatres.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Language: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu

Cast: Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Florence Kasumba, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta

Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect Wakanda from external forces following the death of King T'Challa. They must embrace War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for their beloved kingdom.

Yashoda

Language: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi

Directed by: Hari Shankar

Cast: Samantha, Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Murali Sharma

Yashoda follows a pregnant young woman who is advised to take care of herself. However, as she finds herself entangled in a surrogacy scam, Yashoda risks her well-being to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Uunchai

Language: Hindi

Directed by: Sooraj R. Barjatya

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta and Sarika.

Three friends trek to the Everest base camp to fulfil the last wish of their deceased common friend. The trek turns out to be a personal, emotional and spiritual journey for the trio as they battle their physical limitations and discover the true meaning of freedom.

Mister Mummy

Directed by: Shaad Ali

Cast: Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh and Mahesh Manjrekar

The comedy drama revolves around a couple with opposing choices when it comes to children. But destiny has something else planned for the childhood sweethearts.

Thai Massage

Language: Hindi

Directed by: Mangesh Hadawale

Cast: Gajraj Rao, Divyendu Sharma, Jeniffer Piccinato, Rajpal Naurang Yadav and Anurita Jha

Thai Massage is about a 70-year-old man from Ujjain with erectile dysfunction. Seeking remedy for his problem, he travels to Thailand on a hilarious adventure.

Rocket Gang

Cast: Aditya Seal, Nikita Dutta, Jason Tham, Mokshda Jailkhani, Sahaj Singh, Tejas Varma, Aadvik Mongia

Five children take part in a dance competition to realise their dreams. What follows is a heartwarming story of love, friendship and dance, of course. Ranbir Kapoor makes a special appearance in the film during the song Har Bachcha Hai Rocket.

Dostojee

Language: Bengali

Directed by: Prasun Chatterjee

Cast: Asik Shaikh and Arif SK

Dostojee follows the story of friendship between two little boys from a remote village on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Palash is the son of a Hindu Brahmin while Safikul is the son of a Muslim weaver. The Babri Mosque demolition and the 1993 Bombay blasts puts their friendship to test as separation becomes their destiny.

Tritiyo

Cast: Sudipta Chakraborty, Sampurna Lahiri, Joy Sengupta, Rajatava Dutta

When Sharmila finds out that her husband Sandipan is cheating on her with her colleague Nandini, she decides to seek revenge. Dynamics of their relationship changes as Inspector Bireshwar Hazra takes entry for investigating a murder.

Jhilli

Bokul, a daily wage labourer, works in a bone crushing factory in the middle of Kolkata's largest dump yard. Oblivious to the rapidly-changing world and the new economic boom, he makes the best of his life in his world. Life throws him a challenge when the administration decides to develop the dumpyard into a recreational park.
