American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish added all her followers on Instagram to her close friends list on Thursday.

The singer had 114 million followers on Instagram at the time this report was filed on Friday.

Shortly after being added to Eilish’s close friends list, all her fans received a notification about a recent Instagram story posted by her. The cryptic picture uploaded by the singer features a hand raised against a dark blue background.

Eilish, whose last studio album Happier Than Ever topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2021, also changed her profile picture on Instagram to a dark blue background.

Being added to Eilish’s close friends list prompted her fans to come up with hilarious reactions on social media. “Opening Instagram and pretending that Billie Eilish personally put me on her close friends list. Feels like winning an Oscar,” wrote a fan on X (formerly Twitter).

Another fan posted a funny video, expressing her excitement on finding out that the Bad Guy singer has added her to her close friends list. “How I woke up being on Billie Eilish close friends,” read her caption on X.

Netizens speculated that the 22-year-old singer was teasing the release of her third studio album. “My album is mastered,” Eilish had confirmed on Instagram in February.

Eilish recently won her second Oscar and two Grammy Awards for What Was I Made For track from last year’s summer blockbuster Barbie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
