Fictional band August Moon’s soundtrack from Anna Hathaway’s Prime Video romcom The Idea of You has debuted on the Billboard charts, the American music and entertainment magazine announced recently.
August Moon features Nicholas Galitzine as the lead singer in the film. Galitzine has also lent his voice to all the August Moon songs in The Idea of You, currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
“August Moon is a global sensation in Anne Hathaway's new rom-com 'The Idea of You.' Now, the fictional boy band is officially a Billboard-charting act,” Billboard wrote alongside a photo of August Moon members on Instagram.
The film’s soundtrack, sung by the August Moon members in the film, made it to the Billboard charts on May 18. It debuted at No. 7 on the Heatseekers Albums chart and No. 11 on the Soundtracks chart, garnering 5,000 equivalent album units in the United States from May 3 to May 9, according to a report on the official website of Billboard.
This week, the soundtrack was placed at No. 10 and eventually at No. 18. The soundtrack also received the No. 35 spot on the Emerging Artists chart on May 18.
The 11-track album includes seven original recordings, acoustic versions and remixes. August Moon’s hit song in the film Dance Before We Walk has garnered 2.6 million on-demand official streams in the US till May 16.
In The Idea of You, which hit Amazon Prime Video on May 2, Hathaway plays a middle-aged single mother who falls for the much younger August Moon star Hayes Campbell (Galitzine). Based on a novel by Robinne Lee and inspired by a Harry Styles fanfiction, the film explores the life of a woman, who rediscovers herself and her romantic needs in her forties.
Besides Galitzine as Campbell in the film, August Moon consists of Dakota Adan as Rory, Jaiden Anthony as Adrian, Raymond Cham as Oliver and Vik White as Simon.
