Alia Bhatt surprised all, announcing her pregnancy to the world on social media, on Tuesday morning. The newly married couple, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor, are soon-to-be-parents now.

On Alia’s Instagram post, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor are seen together looking at the ultrasound monitor. Alia, in a black T-shirt, is seen grinning ear-to-ear while Ranbir’s back is visible, looking at the monitor intently. In the second picture, Alia posts a lion, a lioness, and a cub. “Our baby ….. coming soon” - read her post.

While some fans thought it was perhaps a cryptic post for a new film project, congratulatory messages started pouring in from the couple’s Bollywood friends and family members.

At the recent Shamshera trailer launch, a visibly happy Ranbir had said, “Jo Alia hai mere life mein, woh dal chawal mein tadka hai, achaar hai, kanda hai, pyaaz hai, sab kuch hai.”

The couple, who have been seeing each other since 2017, tied the knot on April 14 this year, at their own apartment in the presence of only a few family members and close friends, followed by a close-knit reception at a hotel.

Just weeks after marriage, Alia travelled to the UK to shoot Netflix’s Heart of Stone, finishing a schedule of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh. While Ranbir got busy shooting Luv Ranjan’s film opposite Shraddha Kapoor. He is also working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. After Ranbir’s Shamshera’s release on July 22, Ayan Mukerji’s adventure drama Brahmastra starring the newly married couple is lined up for release on September 9.
