Sarkar Raj was Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s first film together after marriage. There is a lot of curiousity around the Ram Gopal Varma film about the AbAsh chemistry.

The two had landed directly at Hyderabad from the beaches of Tahiti, near New Zealand, where they had gone for their honeymoon. The set of Sarkar Raj was set up in a small village called Anjanpur, just outside Ramoji Rao Film City. As soon as the villagers came to know that the couple had come from their honeymoon directly to their village, the old women decided to have a traditional welcome befitting a bahu. They sang traditional songs and each woman of the village gave Aishwarya green bangles and sindoor.
