I used to do a lot of things for my skin earlier but nowadays I barely get the time. What I do these days is apply papaya or maybe banana on my face at times when I eat these fruits. Papaya has anti-pigmentation properties. Cucumber and tomato are also good for the skin in summer. Cucumber tones while tomato de-tans the skin. |
I am a 26-year-old man with dry skin and rough hair. This summer I am planning to join swimming classes from the coming month since I have put on some extra pounds. Could you please advise me about measures I can take to protect myself from the harmful effect of chlorinated water or at least reduce the damage?

Always use a sunscreen when swimming and after swimming rinse your body immediately with clean water. It is advisable to swim when the sun is not all that strong — preferably in the morning hours or at sunset. Lather a combination of olive and almond oil gently all over the face and body and let it penetrate. This will help naturally moisturise your already dry skin and hair. Also there are some very good leave-in conditioners available in the market that could also be considered.
I am a 16-year-old girl. I started to have pimples on my forehead after I first plucked my eyebrows. The pimples on my forehead usually disappear within a week but they leave marks behind and again new ones appear within a short period of time. What should I do to get rid of these marks and the recurring pimples?

Your skin must be extra sensitive. Also the beautician who is doing the threading needs to be extra careful and gentle. You could try this — apply ice on the skin before and after threading to avoid breakouts. A paste of sandalwood mixed with rose water will be highly effective in soothing the skin and reducing the marks.
