I eat healthy and drink at least 4 litres of water a day. My diet comprises a mix of protein and vegetables. Working out regularly also has a good effect on the skin since it helps flush out toxins. As far as homemade remedies are concerned, I use the classic besan uptan, a concoction of besan, curd and turmeric. My skin is prone to sunburns and tanning and this works the best for me. |
I am a 15-year-old girl. My mother insists on me oiling my hair every week though I have an oily kind of scalp. I keep arguing with her that I can do without oiling. Could you please put an end to this fight once and for all by telling me whether I need to oil my hair or not?

Oiling your hair one a week is not going to harm you in any way, especially if you use almond oil. It’s not very thick or greasy and also provides excellent nourishment for the hair. Also, scalp massage helps improve blood circulation and encourages healthy hair growth.
I am a 22-year-old woman with an acute hair fall problem. I don’t have dandruff but my hair is thin and grows slowly. What troubles me is that the front part of my scalp has begun to show.

Get a blood test done immediately to check for internal wekaness and thyroid. Use a good quality Maha-bhringraj oil followed with turban therapy. Take the paste of 20 hibiscus flowers and apply as a mask on the hair after oiling. Steam for 5-7 minutes and wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo. I would suggest that you do this twice a week. Check with your doctor for vitamins to be included in your diet and have lots of fruits, vegatables and dairy products.
