Suhel Seth Has An Unconventional Take On Personal Problems — And Their Solutions Published 16.09.12, 12:00 AM

My girl friend of eight years is leaving for the United Kingdom to pursue higher studies. She says our relationship has to be kept on hold until she returns. Frankly, I don’t understand what she means. She says we can start where we left once she comes back after the completion of her degree but wants to remain single for the time being. What do you think she is up to?

She will be up to no good. Mark my words she will fall prey to the clothed designs of Prince Harry while you keep waiting for her singing Rabindrasangeet alone at home. Any woman who tells you to keep a relationship on hold is actually telling you to go take a walk. So, stop being a bumbling fool and start chatting up her close friends, cry on their shoulders and see how gullible they become!

My daughter is in love with a guy I do not approve of. She is only 18 and I think it is only an infatuation which will fade away with time. I am not a father who imposes his will on his children, but I am seriously concerned for her. But in view of how the current generation rebels to resistance, I am afraid of confronting her. The guy in question is 13 years older and seems inappropriate for her in more ways than one. What must I do?

Older men are always better. Always. I am in love with someone who is 27 years younger than me and she loves the fact that she gets a two-in-one...a Dad and a lover. Age is always in the mind. If that older man can satisfy her in the study and in bed, how on earth does it matter and who are you to get worried. She is 18 and like most girls, going on 80. Leave her alone, be calm and carry on...
