Trendy florals, dramatic necklines, slits, cuts, pleats and ruffles is what designer Jyotee Khaitan's Summer ’21 collection is all about — a colourful and fresh lookbook of gowns and dresses. Style elements like belts and lace add to the chic factor. Actress Priyanka Sarkar sports a few looks for us.
Rock the summer dinner scenes in this amethyst or mauve pleated halter-neck dress made of georgette with flowy floral-embroidered lace drapes and a slit in the front. Side-parted hair tied at the back and pop lips complete the look. “A mix of serene, luxe and elegant, the outfit exudes modern charm and radiance. Its fluid silhouette makes for a show-stopping look,” says Jyotee.
Priyanka cuts a pretty picture in the soft pink georgette halter-neck dress styled with asymmetrical pleats and a belt around the waist. The hair pulled up into a neat bun, a shade of pink on the eyes and light pink lips, with simple hoops as accessory make the look apt for the summer months. “This is a perfect summer outfit with minimal pleats in front, comfortable and absolutely trendy, adding charm and sophistication to your style quotient,” says Jyotee.
The peach one-shoulder collared dress in crepe chiffon, designed with a slight slit and ruffles at the edge and paired with a brown contrast belt, spells smart. Side-parted wavy hair and nude make-up complete the look. “The interesting neckline and stylishly placed collars make it an absolute statement-worthy style. The front slit with ruffles adds to the oomph factor! Contrasting brown piping has been used in some places to outline and define the collars and the slit,” says Jyotee.
Simple and comfy is this grey sleeveless chiffon summer dress with a contrast bright red piping and straps, ruffle detailing in the front and a belt around the waist. Part of the hair is tied up into a high pony with waves worn open at the back and on the sides. Bright lips complement the mood. “It is a fun and flirty silhouette. The asymmetrical outfit is young and trendy and apt for day and eveningwear outing with friends,” says Jyotee.
This lemon yellow off-shoulder floral-printed chiffon dress is summer fresh. The hair worn open in romantic waves and the accentuated lips and eyes add to the look. “Yellow is a huge trend this season. The dreamy non-fussy silhouette is equal parts fun, comfortable and chic. The romantic neckline and colourful flowers make it a perfect wear for a sunshine lunch outing,” says Jyotee.
