If you’ve been counting down to the monsoons, then it’s time to pack your bags. Bring on the umbrellas, the flip-flops and anything else that you might need to complete your rain-washed holiday. Travel trade gurus predict that the hottest destinations this season will be Goa, Kerala, Udaipur and Coorg. There are deals galore that make them great-value-for-money and hugely easy on the pocket. Here’s a pick of the best deals as you go chasing the monsoons.

The beaches of Goa buzz with a different kind of excitement in the rains. The shacks serving awesome seafood may have shut down but the beaches remain just as busy with revellers. The landscape turns green as the rains come down between June and September and there’s none of the madding crowds of the high season. Goa also celebrates annual festivals like the Sã Joã Festival and the colourful Bonderam Festival at this time.
As always, hotels — from luxury to budget — have slashed rates and are offering tempting deals. Starting at around Rs 21,300 per couple, the Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa is offering a Tropical Escape package for two nights and three days on twin-sharing basis till September 1. This includes daily breakfast, a 20 per cent discount at Sereno Spa, airport transfers and a fun time at Camp Hyatt for children below 12.
Till September 30, you could opt for The Club Rendezvous package at The Leela Kempinski Goa, which offers a three-nights stay with breakfast starting at approximately Rs 42,000 per couple on double occupancy. Depending on the room you opt for, the cost could hit around Rs 77,800.
But if you’re on a shoestring, here’s a far cheaper deal: a three-nights and four-days Mesmerizing Goa package from online travel agency Ezeego1.com costs nearly Rs 7,600 per person for return flights (ex-Mumbai), two-star accommodation, breakfast, airport transfers and taxes. This is also valid till September 30.

Known for its lakes, palaces and temples, Udaipur is one of Rajasthan’s most romantic cities. You can take a boat ride in Lake Pichola when the rains let up and do the touristy circuit of Lake Palace, the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple.
At around Rs 18,300 per person, you can avail of a three-days Monsoon Yoga offer (valid till August 31) at The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur, if you are staying in the hotel (special tariffs start from approximately Rs 37,000 per couple for two nights on double occupancy basis). Ayurvedic massage sessions, a neem purification bath and meditation sessions are part of the offer.
The two-nights, three-days Unified Holidays of India package offered by The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur starts from around Rs 21,000 per couple on double occupancy basis. Valid till September 30, it includes breakfast, sightseeing, airport transfers and meals worth nearly Rs 2,000.
A little off Udaipur, the heritage hotel Devi Garh Palace also has a two-nights and three-days monsoon package starting at approximately Rs 20,500 per couple on double occupancy basis. On till October 15, this includes accommodation, breakfast and a meal daily and a heritage walk of the palace.

As the rains lash Kerala (there are sunny spells in between) the spas are the perfect refuge to spend languid days.
Vivanta by Taj — Malabar, Cochin, is offering prices between Rs 16,000 and Rs 19,900 (depending on room type) per couple. This includes a two-nights stay on double occupancy, buffet breakfast and lunch or dinner. Valid till September 30, you will get an extra night’s accommodation if you book before August 31. You can also relax at the in-house Jiva Spa.
The Super Saver Package from CGH Earth has a five-nights or seven-nights offer on at Casino Hotel in Kochi at around Rs 42,000 and Rs 52,400 per couple respectively on double occupancy basis. Valid till September 30, meals and taxes are included though airport transfers are extra.
The Glorious Kerala deal from Cox & Kings won’t dent your wallet. The six-nights and seven-days package is priced at around Rs 20,200 per person and includes three-star accommodation on twin sharing basis, meals, sightseeing and more. This is also valid till September 30.

One of India’s most favoured monsoon getaways, Coorg, looks prettiest drenched in the rain that turns the lush valleys and sprawling coffee plantations into delightful sights.
Go for the Fresh & Green Coorg package offered at the Orange County Luxury Resort, Coorg, which includes accommodation on double occupancy basis for three nights and four days at special discounts. While a stay at the Presidential Villa will cost you around Rs 43,000 per couple, a night in the lavish Kings Court costs nearly Rs 69,000.
