Having made a munch-happy fan-following in Ahmedabad since 2008, Pepperazzi The Diner, a Sixties-era American-themed multi-cuisine restaurant, has come to Calcutta — its eighth serve in the country.
The 4,500sq ft, 140-cover restaurant on Park Street has quite a long menu — more than 100 appetisers and 120 main course dishes including Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Pan Asian and Indian cuisines.
Why name it Pepperazzi? “Well, it’s a wordplay between pepper, one of my obsessions, and the American obsession with the paparazzi,” said Anand Heena Thakkar, owner and CMD of Pepperazzi Hospitality.
The Calcutta franchisee is owned by sisters Debamita and Paramita Datta and Debamita’s husband Ramitava Patra. “We always wanted to open a restaurant. The Pepperazzi brand and menu seemed appealing and so we went for it,” said Ramitava.
