Hena nafis nutritionist I believe that healthy skin is either a result of good genes or a balanced diet. For me, I think the best way to deal with my skin is by not experimenting with too many products and just let it breathe. I am not much for camouflaging with cosmetics as it makes one look painted and fake. I go for minimalistic make-up and my preferred cosmetic brand is Estée Lauder for lip gloss, kohl and compact. I use a facewash once a day, and mostly splash my face only with water several times during the day. |
I am a 39-year-old homemaker. I go for a facial and a hair spa once in two months. However, of late, I have noticed a receding hairline and wrinkles around my mouth and eyes. I barely use make-up, but these become visible even when I wear make-up. How do I camouflage my wrinkles? And could you suggest something to fix the receding hairline too.

As you approach your 40s it is likely that your skin will begin loosing its elasticity.
Smile and frown lines will deepen and crow’s feet at the corner of your eyes will look more pronounced. Moisturising should be top priority. Switch to a richer cream. It’s time to re-think your make-up. Steer clear of too much powder, which has the tendency to settle into wrinkles and exaggerate them. Less is more when it comes to foundation. So, never wear too much foundation around the eyes as it’ll emphasise fine lines and wrinkles. And the magical secret is blend, blend, blend. There are many different foundation textures to choose from. The best one to use would be a satin-finish foundation that contains light-diffusing pigments.
These reflect the light, giving the illusion of
flawless, younger looking skin and are ideal for mature skin.
For fine lines around your mouth, apply your usual moisturiser around the lips daily. Lip primers have
conditioning formula to
provide a no-bleed base for the lipstick, and protect your lips from becoming dehydrated. Use a lip pencil to accentuate your natural lip line and to hold colour in place through the day.
Whether hair just breaks or
falls out can be established by a good hairdresser. Who can then advice appropriate treatments accordingly. A temporary
solution to the problem would be to add a fringe. Avoid a
heavy fringe. Keep it light to
create a more flattering, feathered effect.
