I am a 50-year-old woman with dry skin. I go for a facial massage once in a month. Of late, black spots are beginning to appear on my face and neck. I am extremely worried. I am facing the problem of hair fall too. Could you suggest something to tackle this at the earliest

You can help boost dry skin by nourishing your body from within. To keep the skin hydrated drink at least two litres of water a day and eat plenty of fluid-rich fruits and vegetables such as watermelons, amla, strawberries, papaya, cabbage, white pumpkin, celery, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, bell peppers and radish.
To help reduce dark spots, which could be the onset of pigmentation, your safest approach is to use products that contain plant-derived skin brighteners. Ingredients to look for include sunflower extract, mulberry, kiwi, liquorice coupled with lactic acid, Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. Avoiding sun exposure is the best way to keep pigmented skin under control. Use a gentle scrub on a weekly basis. Look for an intensive moisturising cream formulated with a high content in hyaluronic acid. After your usual face cleansing routine, apply a small quantity of the product to the face and neck, and massage it in gently.
Hormone disturbance is the most common cause of hair loss especially for women approaching menopause. This is not a cause for concern, however. As soon as the hormone disturbance has been treated, hair growth problems remedy themselves.
Stress, sickness, unhealthy diet and some medicines can also cause hair loss. Applying
hair growth vitalisers helps to stimulate the blood circulation in the scalp, strengthen the roots and reduce hair fall, and promote hair growth. In case your hair fall is quite a lot and continues for a long period without showing
any improvement, it will be wise for you to consult a specialist.

I have combination skin and never step out without wearing a sun screen lotion. I am using La Prairie Broad Spectrum SPF 30 at the moment. Also, I always prefer to use home-made packs for my skin. For instance, I use a mixture of orange peel, split red lentil and milk. Additionally, I love all Forest Essentials products, especially the bath and shower oils. My glosses and mascaras are from M.A.C. I make it a point to oil my hair once a week. I believe that to maintain healthy and glowing skin it is important to sleep well, and stay positive and happy always. Loving life and people works for me.
