Done up in bright teal with wooden furniture and funky lights, the casual dining space plays soft music, making it ideal for conversations over cocktails and grub.

What: RoadHouzz, Brewery, Bar & Kitchen
Where: 192A Sarat Bose Road, first floor, opposite Sarat Bose Road post office
Timings: Noon to midnight
Meal for two: Rs 1,200-plus

A glasshouse with teal walls and warm wooden furniture leads to another zone inside done up with quaint woodwork.

RoadHouzz, Brewery, Bar and Kitchen — the latest chill pad to up shutters in the city — scores high on decor as well as F&B.

The pub that houses the bar has dim lighting and plays peppy music for guests who want a club-like ambience. The woodwork adds to the rustic ranch feel.

This 2,000sq ft address on the first floor of an old house on Sarat Bose Road is divided into two zones — a pub and a casual dining space.

The brainchild of Debnath Chatterjee, Avijit Sen and Ritwik Das, the space took over a year to shape up. “We wanted to keep the theme a mix of both European as well as American. So the decor as well as the menu has an American diner-meets-rustic English pub feel,” said Ritwik.

Pork Kofta: Minced pork marinated with garam masala and wrapped around wooden sticks are shallow-fried to make this starter. Served with buffalo mayonnaise and garlic aioli. Rs 350
Bloody Mary Terminator: You can sip your drink and eat it too! Good old Bloody Mary with vodka, tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce combine with skewers of chicken kebab, chicken sausages and paneer kebabs. You’ll want to share this one. Rs 750
Mutton Rendang: An Indonesian fave, this has slow-cooked mutton chunks in a spicy paste flavoured with galangal, turmeric and coconut. You can also try this in chicken or pork. Rs 450
Magic Mojito: Don’t forget to take a boomerang video as you record this blue tea-based mojito that changes colour as you add to it the lemon juice served on the side. Tastes as good as it looks. Rs 450
