“We were supposed to be on a diet as our wedding is coming up, but we could not resist this! We began with the Prawn Kabiraji from Mitra Cafe. Next on the list are the cupcakes from Drooolicious by Sana,” said Ananya Raychaudhury, a TCS employee, with fiance Souparno Ray, a radiologist.
Eshna Deydutta enjoyed Chicken Lasuni Kesar Malai Tikka from Feast Treat. “This dish is so yummy. These stalls are serving such good food that I am looking for more,” said the owner of The Mermaid’s Myth, a restaurant in Salt Lake.
Shounak Roy, a freelance photographer, and friend Kamalika Mukherjee, a blogger, started with Chicken Reshmi Kebab from Aminia and then feasted on Awadhi Biryani from the same place. “This festival has some pretty nice food. We’re ending our feast with some Gajar Ka Halwa from Agarwal’s. It’s like we ate a three-course meal!” said Kamalika.
“I really enjoyed the Pav Bhaji from K.C. Gope & Co. There is so much variety in the festival, people have lots of options to choose from. And what better time than winter to hold such festivals? It’s a must-visit for all food lovers,” said Subhasish Saha, executive director, Karukrit Group.
Jagyoseni Mandal and her friend Suman Bhattacharjee had plans to watch a movie. “We ditched our plan to come here to eat instead. We had phuchka, and then some juice from The Yellow Straw. We are planning to binge on biryani and kebabs next. My dinner is taken care of,” said Jagyoseni, a research scholar.
(L-R) Sisters Jayita and Disha Chakraborty were all smiles posing with Chicken Tangri Kebab from Nizam’s Restaurant. “We stay so close to City Centre Salt Lake that we are always updated about the festivals. December and January are the most happening months,” said Jayita, a mass communication student of Shri Shikshayatan College.
