Mumbai, Feb. 13: Sony India today slashed the prices of specific products by 5 to 16 per cent to pass over the benefits of the recent customs duty reduction to its customers.

The price reduction in MRP will be 5-10 per cent for Wega flat colour televisions, 8-10 per cent for hi-fi systems and 8-16 per cent for camcorders and digital still cameras.

“Our new pricing strategy will make our products available to a larger consumer base in India,” head sales (CAV division) Mohit Parasher said.

An entry-level Wega TV will now be available at Rs 12,990.
