Hyderabad, Jan. 19: Reliance Retail, the subsidiary of Mukesh-Ambani led Reliance Industries, plans to open 50 stores in Hyderabad soon under the Reliance Fresh brand.

This was announced by K.S. Venugopal, chief executive of Reliance Retail in charge of Andhra Pradesh, while opening four more stores in the state capital, taking the number to 21.

From the fresh concept we are emerging as a solutions and all kitchen store, said Venugopal. The first Reliance Fresh store was inaugurated in November.

“We plan to start home delivery of fresh, grocery and home products after we touch the 50-store-mark in Hyderabad as we want to be a truly neighbourhood store within a radius of 2-3 km,” he said.

There were 30 procurement centres in Andhra Pradesh where the government allowed the company to buy grains directly from market yards.

Reliance Fresh is now present in 21 locations in Hyderabad and seven others in Jaipur(Rajasthan).“We plan to open 12 stores in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur by the month-end,” he said.
