From nearly going to jail, to becoming a millionaire

Calvin grew up in Ilford, Essex with a single mother who raised him and gave him an amazing childhood. In his late teens Calvin begun to find himself at a crossroads. From having problems at home with family, which then in turn led to issues at school, to issues with his future in football. Life soon had Calvin questioning everything dear to him and mentally put him in a dark place.

Nearly at the age of 16 Calvin nearly ended up going to jail. Calvin got mixed up with the wrong crowd and made bad decisions that nearly costs him everything. He found himself in trouble with the police and having to fight a court case that would put him in jail. Even during that time in his life, he was knocked over by a car so what could go wrong went wrong for him.

Despite all obstacles on his way, he kept praying to God for some positive change. His final court case was scheduled just before his 17th birthday, whilst in court he saw his mother crying deeply whilst waiting for the final verdict.

When the final verdict was made fortunately for Calvin, the judge stated, “I see something in you. You come from a good home; I am going to give you another chance.” Hence, he was given a referral order which is a probation period and then community service thereafter, he was seen to be an exemplary young man given unanimous glowing report.

After that juncture in Calvin’s life, it led for a deep conversation where his mum sat him down, through which she often motivated him to chase his dreams. She asked questions about what he wants to do in life to which she learnt about how deep his desire to play football and make a career as a professional. Surprisingly, his mother agreed to support him which led to him not going to college. Calvin then started his excruciating daily practice for the football trials for him to later to go on to get signed to a Semi professional football team.

Calvin was then later made to go and find a job. His mother saw he was not taking like serious enough playing football at Semi pro level, so he went onto work at Primark Oxford Street. This is where Calvin believes he not only decided he wanted more from life than working a 9 to 5 but developed a drive to not only have the ambition for what he wants but the determination to make it happen.

Calvin at the age of 19 kick-started a business in Network Marketing for a company called Organo Gold. By 25, he made substantial amount of money and thought to further extend his potential of earning. As he turned 26, he additionally also started driving cabs for Uber. By the age of 28, Calvin was sure to start something of his own and formed his own company called Fine Bwoi Incorporated.

At the start of lockdown just before his 29th birthday, Calvin was recovering from critical illness but even through that was still vying for his success. He was connected to his mentor and business partner Michael Agyei who not only helped him to first clear 6 figures but also guided him to become a millionaire.

Calvin Garwood’s story truly shows that not only do dreams come true but with hard work success and consistency anything is possible. With the right guidance and an attitude to learn from your mistakes it only makes you better. When your life is looking tough with no way forward there is always light at the end of the tunnel and you can attain all your heart desires.
