New Delhi, Sept. 5: Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Telecom (Etisalat) will not participate in the spectrum auction. Etisalat had entered the Indian market in 2008 through a joint venture with DB Group to form Etisalat DB. But its licences were cancelled by the Supreme Court in February. The company started winding-up proceedings in March and has subsequently shut down all operations.
New Delhi, Sept. 5: Maruti Suzuki India plans to reach full employee strength and resume double-shift production at its Manesar plant by the end of this month, S. Maitra, chief operating officer (supply chain) at Maruti Suzuki, said. Maruti will start the regularisation process at Manesar first. Contract workers at Gurgaon will also be regularised.
Mumbai, Sept. 5: Tata Steel has increased stake in its subsidiary Tinplate Company of India Ltd by 14 per cent for over Rs 87.92 crore. Tata Steel now holds a 73.44 per cent stake in Tinplate, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
