New Delhi, Dec. 23: AirTel has introduced the country’s first lifetime prepaid card for just Rs 999.

The tariff scheme allows an AirTel subscriber to receive calls for life without having to recharge or worry about the validity period of the card or coupon.

The prepaid card also offers the user full talk-time on every future recharge of any denomination. All existing and potential mobile users can avail of this card.

A senior AirTel executive said, “This is a move to expand the subscriber base. In addition, under this scheme, subscribers would get full talk time on their card.”

“It will open up new segments of the market from very young users to elders and from small towns to rural clusters,” said Hemant Sachdev, group chief marketing officer and director-Mobility, Bharti Tele-Ventures.
