Calcutta, April 11: Bharti Airtel has introduced 3G services in the 900 MHz spectrum band in Calcutta with Platinum 3G.

The company won 7MHz in the 900 MHz band in September 2013 and expects instances of call drops to be less on this band.

Airtel was so far offering 3G services in the 2100 MHz band and had an intra-circle roaming arrangement with Vodafone.

"The customers need not pay extra to avail this superior connectivity and can enjoy Platinum 3G at the existing 3G tariffs," said Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO, Bengal and Odisha, Bharti Airtel.
