Ankur Arman now wants his robot to work at the speed of mind.

The 1-ft robot made by the 20-year-old youth can carry anything up to 300g from one place to another. The machine weighing 800g can take a cup of tea from one room to another and move its head.

Ankur takes the help of a six-battery remote device to control this small robot and most importantly, the young lad is on way to develop sensor technology in it so that the machine can start functioning as its user wishes.

The youngster had a glorious past in the field of developing technology. Before inventing this small domestic robot, Ankur had put his high school teacher in a fix after he had developed a transmitter technology at the age of 15.

While pursuing BCA, Ankur had written Let’s Programming @ Speed of Mind, a book based on computer programming.

The book is quite popular among university students. “My second book on computer education, Life @ Speed of Mind, is most likely to be released in December by Sam Pitroda,” he said.

“I have refused to take royalty from the publishers, enabling students to get hold of the book at a cheaper rate,” said Ankur, who has developed a website, www.techednext.com. It was released by state HRD minister P.K. Shahi in May last year.

About his cellphone device to control domestic electrical appliances, Ankur told The Telegraph: “I have developed a technology to switch on and off fans and bulbs with a cellphone instead of a remote control.”

Born on November 11, 1991, as eldest son of an English teacher, Ankur did his Class X from Motihari Zila School and Intermediate commerce from MS College. This young robot scientist finished BCA from Patna College and has enrolled to MCA in Ignou.

Coming from a lower middle-class family, Ankur feels particularly indebted to a bank, which had financed him Rs 40,000 for his robot programme.

Ankur claimed to have been lauded by former President APJ Abdul Kalam, economist Amartya Sen and Microsoft founder Bill Gates among others.
