Patna, July 19: National Commission for Women (NCW) has sought a detailed report from director-general of police P.K. Thakur on assault and stripping of Sangeeta Devi by a group of people in the presence of some police officers three days ago in Jehanabad.

NCW chairperson Mamta Sharma said: “The commission has already taken cognisance of the incident and sought action-taken report from the DGP within a week. Further action would be taken on the basis of the report.”

She, however, expressed her displeasure over the police’s failure to arrest the perpetrators of crime even three days after the incident.

Deputy inspector-general (Magadh range) P.K. Srivastava said efforts were on to ascertain the identity of the people involved in the attack on Sangeeta’s house. “The police have procured video clips of the entire incident,” he said.
