Patna: Gail India has decided to start its CNG refilling stations in the city only after completing the pipeline work in Patna.
Earlier, the government-owned gas major had hinted that it might start the facility before the actual laying of the city pipeline using the off-line mode. But this idea stands shelved now, a senior Gail official shared the information.
He said supplying gas to the city refuelling centre through off-line mode would have added to the input cost, making it economically unviable and hence it was decided to start the facility only after laying the city pipeline.
"Going by the current status of pipeline laying work, Patna is likely to get gas supply from October and hence, the CNG refuelling stations too would be made functional by that time," added the official.
