Patna traffic police have planned the route for President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Patna on Monday for taking part in the Champaran Satyagraha centenary celebrations. Union home minister Rajnath Singh and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will also attend the event. The aircraft carrying the President will touch down at Patna at 12.15pm, and Rajnath Singh and Rahul Gandhi will reach at 11.45am. Traffic restrictions will be in place on Bailey Road between the airport and Sri Krishna Memorial Hall from 11.30am to 12.30pm to facilitate the movement of VIPs. Similarly, restrictions will be back in place between 1.10pm and 1.30pm to facilitate the departure of the President and other VIPs
President arrival route
• 12.15pm: Arrival at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport. The President’s convoy will pass Peer Ali Marg, Patel roundabout and Raj Bhavan before entering Bailey Road near Rajvanshi Nagar. It will then move straight passing through Punaichak, Hartali Mor, High Court Mor, Income Tax roundabout, Dakbungalow, Fraser Road, JP roundabout, Children’s Park and reaching SK Memorial Hall.
Traffic will be restricted on Bailey Road from 11.30am as Rajnath Singh and Rahul Gandhi’s convoys will start from the airport at 11.45am.
Departure route: All three guests will leave SK Memorial Hall at 1.30pm.
Traffic on Bailey Road will be restricted from 1.10pm, 20 minutes before
their departure.
• 1.30pm: From SK Memorial Hall, the President’s convoy will pass Children’s Park, JP roundabout, Fraser Road and Dakbungalow roundabout before entering Bailey Road.
It will then pass Income Tax roundabout, High Court Mor, Hartali mor, Punaichak entering Sri Krishna Singh Path near
Raj Bhavan.
From Sri Krishna Singh Path, the convoy will pass Patel roundabout and Peer Ali Marg on way to the airport. The President’s flight is scheduled to take off at 1.45pm.
Traffic restrictions
Roads or bylanes opening on to Bailey Road around Punaichak will be closed. The Secretariat roundabout, Beer Chand Patel Marg, the road from Kidwaipuri meeting Income Tax roundabout, Dakbungalow roundabout to JP roundabout will also be blocked for traffic
