Vroom to a safer tomorrow

Vyasji, vice-chairman, Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, flags off riders to mark a traffic awareness week from Patna’s Kargil Chowk on Monday. Traffic police personnel, 200 NCC cadets, schoolchildren and police officers took out an awareness walk to the JP roundabout. They were joined by 50 members of Brigade of Bull Riders, a professional group of bike riders on the mission. The awareness week will continue till January 14 during which traffic personnel will create awareness among the public about following rules such as wearing helmets, no honking and wearing seat belts while driving. The traffic department will run a campaign to create traffic awareness at schools and organise different events for schoolchildren about rules. Traffic superintendent of police PK Das said: “Vyasji inaugurated the traffic awareness week in the presence of Brigadier RV Singh, other officials from the Bihar disaster management authority and transport officials.”
