Three arrested, police are confident of zeroing in on the two others involved in the alleged gangrape at a lodge in Rajiv Nagar on Tuesday.

The police are now waiting for the medical report of the 20-year-old girl, a resident of Digha, for confirmation of the crime. Patna senior superintendent of police Amrit Raj said: “Three persons, all 18 years and above, were arrested on Tuesday night. Two accused are absconding but they would be arrested soon.”

On Tuesday, the victim had gone near the lodge on Road Number 24 at Rajiv Nagar. According to the police, mostly young boys and men stay at the lodge.

According to the victim, she had visited the area to look for her elder sister. “The girl’s statement is a bit strange. However, an FIR has been lodged,” said an officer at the Rajiv Nagar police station.

He added: “The girl said her elder sister lived in the area but she didn’t have the exact address. On Tuesday evening, she came near the lodge and asked a few men about her sister. The men pointed out the lodge. She went inside a room on the first floor where one Amit Kumar stayed. Once inside the room, the door was locked and the girl was allegedly gangraped by five persons, including a Class XII student of a city-based school. She escaped from their clutches in the evening and reached the police station.”
