Muzaffarpur, Sept. 26: The tussle between the vice-chancellor (VC) of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University and the University Employees’ Association intensified today.

VC Bimal Prasad has lodged an FIR against three office-bearers of the University Employees’ Association, including its secretary, Fateh Bahadur Singh, and two others, Ganga Prasad and Jai Mangal Prasad Singh. The VC has put Singh under suspension.

Earlier, the daily wage employees’ association of the university had lodged an FIR against the VC and the pro-VC, Padmasha Jha, under the Harijan Atrocity Act with the University police station, accusing the duo of threatening daily wagers with dire consequences and abusing them publicly for being Harijan.

The university police instituted an FIR against the VC and the pro-VC under sections 341, 504, 302, 386 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code. The university remained closed today, as the university employees boycotted their offices to protest against the VC’s action.
