Patna, Sept. 10: Two flood victims, whose toilets have been under water for days now, was today hit by a speeding vehicle when they were on their way to attend nature's call near the Ekmi-Sobhan road in Darbhanga, around 145km northeast of Patna.
Two others, who were with the victims, have received severe injuries in the accident. Police said the incident occurred when the victims Birendra Safi, 18, Deepak Yadav, 19, Raj Kishore Ram, 20, and Pappu Yadav, 18, were on way to attend the call of nature from their makeshift house.
According to the locals, the toilets of the deceased Birendra Safi and Deepak Yadav were under water for a few days. The floodwater hasn't receded in the area, said the locals. They said even some of the houses were under water. To avoid the floodwater, a major portion of the road has been encroached by people of the region. A goods carrier coming from the opposite direction hit the youths near Bharaul village under the jurisdiction of Hanuman Nagar, who fell on the road. The driver, Dharmendra Jha, has been arrested too.
