The day was celebrated amid love, music, neon light and red heart cut outs. Couples danced, kissed and showered their love on each other making the day memorable

Décor & props

Red hearts, balloons, romantic music and dim light — it was the perfect ambience for couples to spend some quality time with each other. The lounge was painted red — from red candles to red curtains and red carpet. “We have tried to give the lounge a cosy look on the special occasion for the couples. We have used more than eight props, including candles, roses and hearts, to give the lounge a proper Valentine’s Day look,” said Ravi, the owner of the Hangover Lounge. The props like hair bands, caps and soft toys added colour to the celebration.

Dress code

Staying true to the Valentine’s Day tradition, most women chose red for the occasion over other colours. But others didn’t mind experimenting as they chose other colours like pink, blue, white and black. They sizzled in everything from a dress to jeans and tops. From solid red to geometrical pattern to LBD, the women made quite a high fashion quotient.

A PYT in a monochrome top paired with black high waist jeggings (left) looked perfect for the party. Another woman (bottom), who came to the lounge along with her husband, chose a pink little dress. The pink teddy as prop completed her look. Black and red also ruled the fashion floor. Most of the men turned in denim shirts.

Party-setter

DJ Varsha from Calcutta belted out some romantic numbers along with Bollywood item numbers. The high-voltage music and beats forced the couples to get cosy on the dance floor. “Romantic numbers in Bollywood are quite slow, making it difficult for revellers to groove. So, I have mixed Bollywood numbers with fast beats,” said Varsha. The women ruled the dance floor. Some of them who didn’t have a valentine came with friends. These group of women let their hair down and danced as there was no
tomorrow. “My boyfriend dedicated a song to me and danced on the number. It was quite unexpected. I love the way DJ Varsha fused the old and new romantic numbers,” said Amrita.
