Junior commissioned officers at the Officers’ Training Academy, Gaya, pay tribute to martyrs on Army Day at the OTA campus on Tuesday. Commandant Lieutenant General GS Bisht paid homage to lance naiks Hem Raj Singh and Sudhakar Singh at Prerana Stambh on the campus. Crossing the Line of Control on January 8, Pakistani soldiers had beheaded Hem Raj and mutilated Sudhakar in Jammu’s Mendhar sector. Army Day is observed on January 15 to pay tributes to martyrs. Deputy commandant Major General L.K. Rampal also paid homage to other martyrs. The training academy in Gaya is the second centre after Chennai where basic military training is provided to cadets in the country. Senior officers, including Brigadier Asif Hussain and Brigadier A.K. Yadav, observed Army Day at the Danapur Cantonment, around 120km north of Gaya.
