Patna, Aug. 18: Bihar State Child Rights Protection Commission would introduce a toll-free number within a month to help students and parents lodge complaints against any irregularity in schools.
The chairperson of the commission, Nisha Jha, said the new number would help the panel learn about alleged irregularities of school administrations. It would help parents lodge complaints against schools without the fear of their children being penalised, as the name of the complainants would not be disclosed.
With this initiative, the commission aims to ensure that schoolchildren do not suffer. Drop boxes would also be installed at the district and commissionerate levels so that people can submit written complaints against schools.
Jha said: “The commission is receiving several complaints against private schools stating that students and their parents are often being harassed for no fault of theirs. At times, the parents feel helpless, as their wards would have to attend the school the next day. The commission felt the parents should be provided with a toll-free number so that they can seek our help.”
The commission would convene a meeting on Friday to discuss the alleged irregularities of school authorities affecting students and parents.
