Patna: The family of 13-year-old Navruna Chakravorty, who went missing mysteriously from her house in Muzaffarpur before her body was found in 2012, has received threats over phone and in person.

Navruna's father Atulya lodged an FIR with the Muzaffarpur police on Monday, alleging that one of the suspects in the case, Ramesh Kumar alias Bablu, had threatened over phone to eliminate him and his family members.

Atulya also alleged that Ramesh accosted his brother Nirmalya Chakravorty alias Manikda when he was returning home from the market on Monday. But Nirmalaya didn't respond to him.

"Nirmalya had gone to buy grocery when the incident happened," an officer posted at Muzaffarpur town police station quoted Atulya as saying.

Muzaffarpur deputy superintendent of police (town) Ashish Anand said an FIR was lodged on the basis of Atulya's statement. A copy of the complaint had been forwarded to the CBI, which is probing the case.

Navruna went missing from her Jawaharlal Road house on the intervening night of September 17 and September 18 in 2012. A skeleton was recovered from a drain near her house on November 26, 2012. DNA tests confirmed the skeleton belonged to Navruna.
