Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad's younger son and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Sunday rejected the possibility of inclusion of expelled RJD leader and Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav in the RJD.

Tejashwi made it clear that Pappu, who has formed his own political outfit Jan Adhikar Party Loktantrik (JAPL), will not be taken back in the party at any cost. "The RJD will not entertain a person like Pappu Yadav in the party and he will not be taken back at any cost," Tejashwi said at Purnea circuit house on Sunday before going to address a public meeting in High School, Baisi.

Reacting to Tejashwi's comment, Pappu said: "For me, only Lalu Yadav is the subject. What others talk about me is not my concern. I am dedicated to the people of Bihar and my party plans to contest all 40 Lok Sabha seats and all 243 Assembly seats. I will urge people to give me a chance as they have seen the Congress, the BJP, the JDU and RJD," Pappu said.

After RJD national vice-president Shivanand Tiwari met jailed former MP Anand Mohan in Saharsha jail, who has strong hold in the Kosi belt, talks of the RJD mobilising the support of strong leaders received a momentum.

The talks became more evident when another RJD national vice-president, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, supported Pappu, who also has a strong base in the Kosi belt saying that he was part of the RJD.

Speaking in favour of Pappu, the former Union minister had said Pappu was not alienated from the RJD and it was necessary to take everyone under one roof to defeat Nitish Kumar and the BJP in Bihar.

Tejashwi on Sunday virtually rejected the chances of Pappu's inclusion and also warned the RJD leaders to get ready to face punitive action if heard supporting Pappu in future.

"As I said that there is no-entry for Pappu in the party and the RJD will show the door to those who will do advocacy in support of Pappu. We do not need people like Pappu in the party," Tejashwi said.

Tejashwi issued the comment against Pappu in a place is considered to be Pappu's stronghold.

Pappu, who holds influence in north Bihar's Kosi-Seemanchal region, is a five-term MP - thrice from Purnea and twice from Madhepura. His wife, Ranjeet Ranjan, is a Congress leader and also an MP from Supaul.

On May 7, 2015, the RJD had expelled Pappu for anti party activities for six years. On several occasions, Pappu had gone against the party line and criticised his own leaders inside the party including Lalu's son Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav.

Pappu went on to say during the 2015 Assembly elections that if both of Lalu sons win their respective seats, he would resign from politics. After they won, Pappu apologised for his comment.

When The Telegraph contacted Pappu on Sunday to comment on Tejashwi's statement, he denied having said anything on the issue.
