Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who returned to Patna after 13 days on Thursday, insisted his father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, had held no political meetings.

Attacking Sushil Kumar Modi, who had on Wednesday demanded that Lalu's bail be cancelled for undertaking political work in violation of bail terms. Tejashwi said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) delegation had met Lalu to ask about his health.

"No political talk took place between Lalu ji and the TDP leaders," Tejashwi said. "They had just come to enquire about the health of my father. (TDP chief) Chandrababu Naidu has tried to contact me but I could not speak to him. When I had met Naiduji last time in Bangalore during the oath-taking ceremony of H.D. Kumaraswamy, he (Naidu) had enquired about Lalu ji's health. So he could not come and sent his MPs.

"It is for the court to decide on his bail and it is a doctor who can say whether Lalu ji is fit or not and Sushil Modi is neither the court nor a doctor," Tejashwi added. If Sushil Modiji has some time, he can visit 10 Circular Road and I will ensure that Laluji meets him. If that is not enough, Sushil Modi ji can come to Mumbai and take him (Lalu) to any hospital to check whether he (Lalu) is fit of not."

Tejashwi said 60 per cent of Lalu's kidneys have been damaged and his blood sugar is fluctuating continuously.

Tejashwi had gone to Bali in Indonesia, and returned to New Delhi two days back. He landed in Patna around 12.15pm on Thursday, on the same flight in which chief minister Nitish Kumar's confidant and water resources minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, a.k.a. Lalan Singh was travelling. RJD sources said Tejashwi and lalan had a long interaction at New Delhi airport.

"The BJP and JDU leaders do not have any work," Tejashwi said. "Throughout the day, they just keep talking of Laluji and his family members. At a time when Bihar is facing droughts, Nitish rolls out the red carpet for Amit Shah. The state government spent unlimited money on Shah's visit."
