Former Sheikhpura superintendent of police Ansuiya Ransingh Sahu has sought an appointment from chief secretary A.K. Sinha to plead her case before action is initiated against her for alleged involvement in corrupt practices.

Director-general of police Abhayanand had last week recommended suspension and departmental proceeding against Sahu for allegedly partonising quarrying and liquor mafia during her tenure in Sheikhpura. Sources said Sahu, a 2006-batch IPS officer, has been trying for the last two days to get an appointment with the chief secretary. But her request has not been accepted because of the busy schedule of the senior bureaucrat.

“I have already submitted an application to the chief secretary’s office,” Sahu said, adding that she has also submitted a petition to the office of the chief minister’s principal secretary Anjani Kumar Singh on Monday.

She also wrote a letter to chief minister Nitish Kumar demanding a fair inquiry into her case and complaining that she had not been provided CDs of the conversation between her and her bodyguard (mentioned in the show-cause notice served on her) and other documents by the police headquarters.

The copies of the showcause notice servedon September 13 and subsequently reply, were also handed over to Subhani. In her reply of her showcause notice Sahu said that she had joined Sheikhpura on March 30, 2012 as the district police chief and inspected all incidents that occurred during her tenure.

“I initiated stern action against the quarrying mafia and submitted chargesheet in all the cases,” she said.
