Patna, Oct. 19: The state police headquarters today ordered a probe into the self-immolation bid of a person allegedly after being tortured by deputy superintendent of police (town) Ramakant Prasad. Sources said director-general of police Abhayanand asked Patna police to give him a detailed report on the incident.

Dipak Kumar alias Dipu, a resident of Salimpur Ahra under Gandhi Maidan police station, came to the busy Kargil Chowk yesterday evening with his wife and two children and poured kerosene on himself. The people of the area caught hold of them and called the police.
