Patna, Nov. 20: For the students of International School Patna, this Sunday was a big day. Not only did they celebrate the institute’s 21st annual day but also got the platform to showcase their talents.

The school organised its 21st annual day function at SK Memorial Hall. It was a packed house at the auditorium with the students, accompanied by their parents, barely leaving a seat empty.

The event saw various performances by the tiny tots and their seniors as well. They organised plays, sang songs and danced to mesmerising numbers. The function began with a welcome song as the students greeted the chief guest, Justice S.N. Hussain, a Patna High Court judge.

Principal F. Hasan said: “It is a big day for us as we have successfully completed 21 years. In these two decades, we have treated every student as a special one. We are proud that we have continued with our aim of not just providing quality education to the students, but also to encourage them to take up extra-curricular activities, which help in their overall development.”

She added: “We have succeeded in achieving our goal over the years. We pledge to continue with our tradition in future.”

Justice Hussain distributed mementos and handed over certificates of excellence to the students for their overall performance and academic brilliance.

The children showcased their skills in various programmes as they participated in different events.

After the welcome song, a play “Terrorism — will humanity pass the acid test?” was staged by the students from classes I to X. The child actors deftly spread the message of the scourge of terrorism. The play also brought out how an ordinary person is compelled to pick up the gun and resort to terror following a string of unsavoury factors. The participants received a huge applause when they completed the play.

The students of Upper KG performed a theme-based dance with the song My Friend Ganesha. The students also danced to folk, retro and fusion numbers.

On the other hand, their seniors staged Shakespeare’s King Lear. “I am very happy to have been a part of this annual function. It is such a big day for all of us. We got to showcase our talents in front of everyone,” Pragya, one of the participants, said.

The guests on the occasion included Shahid Ali Khan, state minister of information and technology and minister welfare department and MLA Manjeet Kumar Singh.
