Motihari, July 15: Students of Class IX of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Piprakothi (Motihari) are finding it tough at Deel, Meghalaya.

The students, who had left for Meghalaya on July 3 under the one-year national policy of the central human resource development department for cultural exchange and language promotion are not only feeling insecure among impudent students, but also victimised on regional lines.

This was divulged in a joint SOS petition from the guardians to the principal of the school with a request to protect their wards and call them back to their own school instead of any field training for cultural exchange and language promotion.

According to sources, apart from misbehaving in drunken state with girl students and blowing cigarette smoke in their faces, students are subjected to torture on the lines of regional differences, the guardians’ petition said.

Meanwhile, the principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Piprakothi, R.P. Singh, denied the situation in Meghalaya to be as serious as stated by the guardians. He told The Telegraph: “I have spoken to the principal of the school concerned at Deel and even informed higher officials regarding the petition.”
