Motihari, Jan. 9: State BJP president Dr C.P. Thakur today said the government should lay stress on complete eradication of kalaazar from Bihar and achieve the goal of a world free of the virus by 2015.

Addressing a news meet, Thakur, who met nearly 20 patients suffering from the disease at the local sadar hospital, said: “Besides checking the reasons leading to the spread of kalaazar, we must ensure that the stock of medicines at the hospital never run short of (kalaazar) drugs.”

He added that Motihari Sadar Hospital was in dire need of more skilled gynaecologists to cope with the rush of patients from the Champaran and the Nepal border.
