The powerhouse performers presented nine stories in the one-and-a-half-hour play, Trivial Disasters, and glued the audience to their seats till the end of the show.
Kalki Koechlin (Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani fame), Richa Chaddha (Gangs of Wasseypur fame), Purab Kohli (Rock On fame) and Cyrus Sahukar (MTV India VJ) put in all their efforts to make the audience ROFL throughout the one-and-a-half-hour show on Friday night. Directed by Atul Kumar and written by Ajay Krishnan, the play weaved nine short stories, around 10 minutes each, beautifully. The stage was decorated with carton boxes and lights. In the first act, Kalki Koechlin and Purab Kohli perform a close dance, for which they receive a standing ovation from the audience at the end of the show.
t2 selects the three best stories of the nine for them who have missed the show. Here you go...
Story one: In this act, Richa Chaddha and Cyrus Sahukar play a worried couple, who fear that their son (Purab Kohli) has stopped taking interest in girls and has turned gay. Afraid of losing their son if they oppose to the fact, they decided to support him and even went on to join a group of their son and they event went on to join a support group of gays. However few days later, when the couple found out that their son was actually homophobic (those who have negative feeling towards homosexuality), they could not accept the fact. They asked their son to leave the house, as they were afraid that the support group of gays would make fun of them.
Story two: Purab Kohli plays a person who wants to commit suicide and visits a shop to buy instruments that will help him achieve the goal. The shopkeeper, however, turned out to be a suicide counsellor (played by Kalki Koechlin), who suggests him various ways of committing suicide. The shopkeeper-cum-counsellor suggests his customer to put his head into a machine that would crush it in seconds. The second suggestion is to use a platinum knife to cut his neck. After getting the demonstrations of the various ways of committing suicide, the customer finally escapes from the shop and hopefully discards the idea of taking his life.
Story three: Cyrus Sahukar plays a priest of the church and Purab Kohli a person who wants to make a confession. The priest asks the person to make a confession of the biggest sin he has committed. The person tries to recall but can’t think of a single sin he had committed in the recent past. The priest tells the man that he won’t let him go till he makes the biggest confession. Thinking again, the person tells the priest that he had raped a donkey. The priest laughs out loud and directs him to tell about the biggest sin he had committed. The person finally goes out of the church, murders a man and comes back and tells the priest about it. The priest becomes very happy and let the person go.
Audiencespeak
“I have come to watch the play only because of my favourite actors, Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chaddha. I knew that they were good in films, but was not aware that they are so brilliant in live performances also. Hope Patna hosts these kinds of shows quite often,” —
Shonali (18).
“Purab Kohli and Cyrus Sahukar are very good actors. I just enjoyed watching their performances,” —Ritvik Kishore (23).

Ass-tounding, bro!
So, how did Nicki Minaj deliver her ass-tounding Anaconda video, the high point of which is a lap dance for rapper Drake? Asked by a fan on Twitter whether it was choreographed or not, she simply said it was “all drunk freestyle”. Drake is going around town saying that he enjoyed the dance. Nicki confirmed his feelings on Twitter: “He was very happy”. What?! Has she forgotten her three-month-old Instagram post: “Yall gotta chill. Lol this my brother”?!

After 35 years
If you’re in London anytime till October 1, don’t think twice about attending one of the 22 concerts Kate Bush is giving because the appearance has been 35 years in the making. The queen of art-pop has inspired a generation of artistes, including Lady Gaga who, in 2009, covered Bush’s Don’t Give Up. Her last album was 50 Words For Snow in 2011. The current going rate for the tickets is upwards of £1,250 or $2,071. And to think the VIP tickets to Michael Jackson’s O2 Arena concerts in 2009 (didn’t take place because MJ passed away) were priced at $1,100!

Simply nice
Sexy, cool… no, Taylor Swift doesn’t care about these words. The singer, who has just released a single –– Shake It Off –– from her October-release album (titled 1989), has told The Guardian: “Every artiste has their set of priorities. Being looked at as sexy? Not really on my radar. But nice? I really hope that that is the impression.” She doesn’t care that “nice” can be used negatively. “Totally! But I don’t care if that’s not cool, to seem nice or not. I’m not that focused on being cool and I never have been.” Nicccce!

Break point over bulge?
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have been engaged for many months now. Even as Jen waits for her beau to pop the question, there is talk that Justin has been showing more than a passing interest in Liv Tyler , his co-star in Leftovers.
“Justin and Liv have been racking up a lot of alone time on and off set,” reveals a source and that is, of course, driving Jen crazy.
Things have apparently got worse over the past week with Liv posting photos of herself and Justin on Instagram, and openly talking about his “bulge” during promotional interviews —
“There was this scene where he was jogging and there was quite a large bulge in his sweatpants, and it was all over!”
JenA is both livid and jittery, say friends — after all Brad Pitt, her husband of five years, ended their marriage after falling for Angelina Jolie on the sets of Mr and Mrs Smith.
