The Bihar chapter of Special Olympics Bharat will organise a four-day sports festival from August 18 to provide differently abled children with an opportunity to sweat it out with students from various schools in the state capital.
Unified Sports Festival, to be held at Moin-ul-Haq stadium, would see students from 10 city schools participating in football, handball and basketball among other games. The event would also see some differently abled children in each participating team.
“We have made youth activation committees at various schools. The panels comprise school students as the members. The committees organise sport events in their respective schools. Students of the school and children with different ability participate in the events. We have so far formed youth activation committee in 13 schools, including St Michael’s High school, Notre Dame Academy and Delhi Public School,” Sandeep Kumar, the sports trainer at Bihar Chapter of Special Olympics Bharat, said.
“Unified Sports Festival will be held on August 18, 19, 25 and 26. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on August 28,” he added.
