Live webcast would be carried out in 210 booths of total 4,347 booths in Patna district, which goes to poll on October 28, the third phase of the Assembly elections.

The district administration, in its effort to ensure free and fair election, has decided to conduct live webcast in these booths.

District magistrate Pratima S. Verma said: "To make the election process smooth, the live webcast will be carried out in around 5 per cent of total booths as directed by the Election Commission."

Also, the district administration will carry out distribution of voting slips among voters from October 15. Verma said: "From October 15, the district administration staff will visit door-to-door distributing election slips." The slips will carry information about the name of voter and the booth's name where a voter can cast vote. The district administration volunteers, coming forward in distributing voting slips, is in addition to volunteers from different political parties who guide voters from houses to booths.

The district administration has been carrying out various awareness drives to enhance voting percentage. As part of election awareness campaign, it is organising street plays, special runs among others.

Monday being the last day of withdrawal of names in the 14 Assembly constituencies spread across Patna district, 253 candidates are in the fray finally. The highest number of candidate is in Kumhrar Assembly constituency where 34 are contesting. Followed by Kumhrar, the highest number of candidates is in Digha seat, where 31 candidates are contesting. Digha is the state's largest constituency having 400 booths with around 4 lakh voters. The least number of candidates is in Fatuha, Danapur and Maner with 13 candidates each. In all 14 constituencies falling under Patna district voting will be done from 7am to 5pm, barring Paliganj and Masaurhi where polling will end at 4pm. Both Paliganj and Masaurhi seats are Naxalite-hit constituencies.
