Patna: Rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday hinted at the possibility of his joining hands with others if his party ignored him in the coming general elections.
His stand assumes significance as it comes a day after RJD leader and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav said that any party would love to have a leader like Shotgun.
Reacting to Tejashwi's comment, Sinha told The Telegraph on Thursday: "It feels good when someone speaks highly about one's importance. Moreover, Lalu Prasad's children treat me like a guardian and also love me a lot."
Asked about the chances of him accepting Tejashwi's offer, the BJP MP said he would take a call when the time comes. He added that factor likes his proximity to Lalu's family would certainly come into play when he has to take the decision. "I will not leave my party. Let them throw me out. Only then will I take a call," said Sinha.
Asked what his reaction would be if the BJP does not throw him out but ignores him during ticket distribution, Sinha said: "Those managing the party should not forget that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."
He went on to add: "How can one do this to me? The theory that neither will I do anything nor allow you to do anything will not work with me. I know that unlike the BJP of A.B. Vajpayee, the party has now become a one-man show and two-man army and no other leader is given importance."
Asked if he would cross the bridge on his own, Sinha said he might do so if such a situation arose.
"As far as the RJD is concerned, the kind of love I get from Lalu Prasad's family, I feel responsible towards them and my proximity to the RJD-Congress alliance is known to all," the Patna Sahib MP said.
