Ara: Bhojpur police, acting on a tip-off, arrested Jharkhand-based sharpshooter Nand Kishor Singh alias Bablu Singh alias Mama from Berath village under Chauri police station on Thursday in connection with the murder of Ranjay Singh, a close associate of an MLA from Jharia, Dhanbad, in Jharkhand, Sanjeev Singh and also attack on Bhojpur police and sent him to jail on Friday after interrogation. With his arrest the Bhojpur and Jharkhand police heaved a sigh of relief.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar on Friday said that he got information that a notorious criminal, Nand Kishor Singh, son of Braj Kumar Singh, had come to his native village at Berath under Chauri police station.
He immediately swung into action and formed a police team that conducted raids at Berath village and arrested him when he was going to drop his children at a private school in the village.
After the court order, Jharkhand and Bhojpur police took him on remand for interrogation. The SP said Jharkhand police might take him to Jharkhand on transit remand.
The SP said Jharkhand police had come to Bhojpur to arrest Nand Kishor Singh, who had come to Bhakura village under Ara Muffassil police station to attend the wedding of his niece on May 1, 2018, but he slipped and fled and the police had to face the wrath of residents who pelted the force with stones, injuring half a dozen of them.
