Gaya: A criminal case has been lodged against an associate professor in a Gaya college on the basis of a written complaint made by a student of the institution, accusing him of seeking sexual favours from her in lieu of academic assistance.

An audio tape, purportedly containing the voice of the teacher, has also gone viral. He is heard asking the girl whether she was alone.

Confirming the lodging of the criminal case against the teacher, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra said the details about the section under which the case has been lodged were not immediately available.
